Starting therapy can bring up a lot of questions—and that’s completely normal. This section is here to offer clear, supportive information about what to expect, how counselling works, and how we can work together. If you don’t see your question answered here, you’re always welcome to reach out. My goal is to help you feel informed, comfortable, and supported as you decide whether therapy is the right next step for you.

How much are sessions?

$150 for a full 60 minute individual session

$75 for a 30 minute individual session (quick check in)
What is your policy for cancelling or rescheduling appointments?
Appointments are reserved especially for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Late cancellations (within 24 hours) may be subject to a fee, as this time cannot usually be offered to another client. Missed appointments (no-shows) will be charged the full fee of the session. It is understood that unexpected situations arise and encourage open communication whenever possible. Thank you for respecting the time and care set aside for your session.


What information do you need prior to our initial appointment?
You will be sent an intake form upon booking your initial appointment. Please complete this prior to your first appointment.
Completing the intake ahead of time helps us make the most of your initial session by allowing me to understand your needs, goals, and background in advance. This reduces administrative time during your appointment and allows us to focus fully on you from the start.
What if we are not a good fit?
A strong therapeutic relationship is an important part of the therapy process. At times, a therapist and client may discover that they are not the best fit for one another. If this happens, I will support you in exploring other options and can provide referrals to trusted professionals to help ensure you receive care that best meets your needs.
What are the risks and benefits to therapy?
Therapy can be a meaningful and effective way to support emotional well‑being, personal growth, and positive change. Many people experience benefits such as increased self‑understanding, improved coping skills, healthier relationships, and relief from distress over time. Therapy offers a confidential, supportive space to explore thoughts, feelings, and patterns, and to work toward goals that matter to you.

At the same time, therapy is not always easy. Talking about difficult experiences or emotions may bring up discomfort, strong feelings, or memories, and some people notice things feel more intense before they start to feel better. Therapy can also involve change, which—even when positive—can feel challenging or unsettling. Results vary from person to person, and progress often takes time and effort.
